The PowerUp Chess Program is a FUN 8-week introductory After-School Chess Program designed to help students learn the FUNdamentals of chess including basic piece movement, checkmating patterns, and other foundational principles of the game in a dynamic and engaging environment. Some of the documented benefits of chess instruction are improved critical thinking skills, increased math and verbal test scores, and a myriad of varied life skills. This program is a perfect fit for any student who wants to PowerUp their mind while having FUN and learning the basics of chess!
Tournament/Intermediate-Advance Chess Program is designed for students who already have a strong understanding of chess fundamentals and are ready to take their game to the next level. Over this 8-week program, students will build their skills through structured lessons, challenging practice, and competitive play. Topics include tactical patterns, checkmating techniques, opening principles, middlegame strategy, endgame skills, and tournament preparation. Lessons are designed to challenge students at their individual skill level while helping them become more confident, strategic, and well-rounded chess players.
